The Ultimate Guide to Disneyland Paris with a Baby

Disneyland Paris is a magical destination that’s perfect for families with young children, and it is a place where children of all ages can enjoy and make memories. But with so many rides and attractions to choose from, it can be difficult to know which ones are suitable for babies. This post will help you to understand which rides and attractions are best for your babies and also provide some tips to make your trip more comfortable.

Can Babies Go On Rides at Disneyland Paris?

Yes, at Disneyland Paris, there are a number of rides that babies are allowed to ride. Technically, all rides with a height restriction of “any height” are allowed for babies. And in most of these cases, a parent can sit with the baby on their lap.

Babies Must Face Forward On Rides

Be forewarned that the baby will need to be facing forward. So if you have a baby carrier or scarf/sling/wrap where the baby sleeps facing your chest, you’ll be asked to turn the baby so that he/she is facing forward in the ride car.

This can be particularly annoying when the baby has just settled in for a nap, and you are forced to either wake the sleeping baby or skip the ride.

2. Dumbo the Flying Elephant

Babies will love the chance to ride on this classic Disney attraction. Dumbo the Flying Elephant takes visitors on a journey through the air on the back of the lovable elephant, Dumbo.

The gentle pace of the ride and the fun, colorful scenery make it a great option for young children. Plus, kids can control the height of their own elephant, which adds an extra element of excitement.

So, sit back and take off with Dumbo the Flying Elephant as you soar above Fantasyland. With its relaxed pace and beautiful views, it’s a great ride for babies and kids of all ages.

3. Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups

If your baby loves spinning around, then the Mad Hatter’s Tea Cups is a great ride for them. You and your little one can spin around in giant teacups and control the speed of the spin yourself.

The tea cups spin in circles, allowing riders to control the speed and direction of their own cup. The colorful and whimsical scenery, combined with the fun spinning motion, makes this ride a great option for babies and young children.

Additionally, the ride is also a great way for families to spend some quality time together, as riders can spin their tea cups in circles, laughing and having fun.

4. Peter Pan’s Flight

This is another classic ride that takes you and your baby on a voyage over London and Neverland with Peter Pan. It’s a gentle ride suitable for babies, as there are no scary drops or moments of distress.

The carousel is a classic amusement park ride, and it’s especially suitable for babies. This carousel is located in the center of Fantasyland, and you and your baby can hop on one of the horses or chariots as they go round and round.

The gentle music and colorful decorations make this a great ride for young children. The carousel is also a great way to end your day at Disneyland Paris, as it often has a short line at the end of the day.

6. Storybook Land Canal Boats (Le Pay des Donte de Fées)

This is another gentle boat ride that is perfect for babies and young kids. These canal boats will take you on a tour of miniature settings from some of your favorite movie classics, like The Little Mermaid and Cinderella, and even more modern films, such as Frozen.

7. Orbitron

This somewhat high-speed spinning ride is designed to simulate a space flight, with riders seated in small spacecrafts that spin in circles. Essentially it is Dumbo the Flying Elephant with a space theme.

That said, the ride’s outer space setting, complete with flashing lights and Leonardo da Vinci-inspired theming is visually beautiful and makes for a pleasant experience.

8. Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing

This friendly adventure takes you and your baby on a scenic tour of the Rivers of the Far West. The gentle pace of this boat ride makes it an ideal choice for babies and a relaxing break for exhausted parents.

The journey takes riders past beautiful landscapes and rivers, providing plenty to look at along the way.

9. Mickey’s PhilharMagic

This 4D movie experience takes you and your baby on an adventure through some of Disney’s most beloved movies. It’s a great way to introduce young children to the world of Disney, as they can experience it all in a safe and comfortable environment.

Donald Duck leads you on a journey with magical 3D visuals, lively music, and other familiar characters. The 3D glasses aren’t idea for babies/toddlers and the music can be a bit loud at times, but overall this is a tame attraction that is perfectly fine for little ones.

10. Disneyland Railroad

The Disneyland Railroad is a great way for you and your baby to take in the sights of the park without having to do any walking.

This scenic train ride circles around the entire park, stopping at four locations: Main Street, USA; Fantasyland; Discoveryland; and Frontierland. The ride also has several audio-animatronic scenes that your little one will enjoy.

It’s a great way to relax and take in the sights with your baby without having to do too much walking. Plus, you can get off at any of the four stops and explore the areas more closely. That makes this a very convenient way to explore Disneyland Paris with your young family.

Walt Disney Studios Park Rides for Babies

1. Flying Carpets Over Agrabah® (Les Tapis Volants)

Flying Carpets is basically a rethemed version of Dumbo the Flying Elephant. In this version, riders fly in flying carpets that seat four. The front passengers can control the height of the carpet, moving it up and down with a joystick. However, due to the design of the restraint, our kids had trouble reaching the joystick, which resulted in some major frustration on their part.

2. Slinky® Dog Zigzag Spin

Slinky® Dog Zigzag Spin is a simple closed-circle rollercoaster-type ride. It does circle around the track pretty fast and probably isn’t for all babies, but while it is fast, it’s also gentle and not really scary in any way.

3 Cars Quatre Roues Rallye

This ride is like Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on steroids. You don’t control the spinning, but that’s probably for the best, as this one can be pretty fast.

Like Slinky Dog, the speed and velocity of the spinning might be too much for some babies – and parents! That said, it isn’t scary, and the spinning motion is pretty smooth and fluid, but you definitely do feel the g-forces.

Judgment Call Rides: Rides that a Baby Can Go On, But Maybe Shouldn’t

As we mentioned before, a baby can technically ride on any ride without a height restriction, but that doesn’t mean that they should. Some rides have too many sharp turns or rapid drops that could be uncomfortable for a baby; others are simply too scary or intense.

This will obviously be a judgment call on your part; no two babies are alike, but it’s worth cautioning. Also, keep in mind that some rides will be fine for young babies but scary for toddlers. Sometimes what a baby doesn’t know can’t scare them.

Casey Jr Circus Train

This one is a small roller coaster. It’s perfect for toddlers but was a bit too much for our children when they were babies.

Les Voyages de Pinocchio

Pinocchio has a few scenes that can be too scary for babies or young kids.

Snow White

Again, this one is notorious for being too scary for babies and young kids.

Phantom Manor

Obviously, this is a haunted house attraction, so naturally, it can get a bit scary. Personally, I’ve found this version of the ride to be a little bit scarier than the Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World.

Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast

One time on Buzz Lightyear, our ride vehicle stopped during a scene with Zurg, and now our 3-year-old swears he’ll never do this ride again in his life.

Ratatouille

This one is truly a borderline ride. There’s no one thing that is too scary, but it’s an adventure and there are a lot of loud noises and stressful moments.

Cars Road Trip

The Cars Road Trip ride features explosions, fire, and flash floods. Needless to say, this could be too much for many youngsters.

Spider-Man W.E.B. Adventure

While this is almost entirely a screens based ride, the action that takes place on screen can be a bit too violent and scary for babies. Our 3-year-old handled it fine, but the 1-year-old didn’t like it.

Pirates of the Caribbean

Pirates is a water ride that has two drops that can be a bit thrilling. Additionally, there are a number of skeletons and visually scary scenes.

The Lair of the Dragon (La Tanière du Dragon)

This is a simple walk-through attraction underneath Sleeping Beauty Castle. It features an audio-animatronic dragon that sleeps and wakes regularly. Even though it’s just a simple walk-through attraction, it can be a little too scary and intense for babies and young children.

Shows and parades for babies

Disneyland Paris has a variety of shows and parades that are perfect for babies. One of the most popular is the “Disney Magic on Parade.” This parade features a variety of Disney characters, and babies will love the bright colors and music. The parade is designed for the whole family, and it’s a great way to experience Disney’s magic.

Another must-see show for babies is “Disney Dreams.” This night-time spectacular takes place on the castle stage and features a combination of lights, projections, and special effects. Your little one will be mesmerized by the stunning display and the colorful Disney characters.

All these shows and parades are perfect for babies, and they will enjoy the sights, sounds, and atmosphere of these shows. They are gentle, slow, and colorful and will provide a great introduction to the world of Disney for your little ones.

Tips for visiting Disneyland Paris with a baby

When visiting Disneyland Paris with a baby, there are a few things to keep in mind to make the most of your trip.

Think about Naps in Advance

First and foremost, it’s important to plan around your baby’s nap schedule. Disneyland Paris can be a lot of fun, but it can also be overwhelming for little ones, so make sure to take breaks when your baby needs them. If you have a stroller, you can use it as a place for your baby to nap, or you can find a quiet area to sit and rest.

Stroller or Baby Carrier

Another tip is to bring a stroller or baby carrier. Disneyland Paris is a large park, and you’ll likely be doing a lot of walking, so it’s important to have a comfortable way to transport your baby. A stroller or carrier will also provide a safe and secure place for your baby to nap.

Don’t Forget Diapers and Wipes

Other tips for visiting Disneyland Paris with a baby include bringing extra diapers, wipes, and formula/breast milk, and making sure to dress your baby comfortably in weather-appropriate clothing.

Try to Avoid the Crowds

Lastly, you can also plan your trip to Disneyland Paris during the off-season to avoid crowds and long lines. If you can’t go during the off-season, consider staying on the property so that you can take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours that Disney Hotel guests are afforded. This will make it more comfortable for both you and your baby.

By keeping these tips in mind, you’ll be able to make the most of your visit to Disneyland Paris with your little one and ensure that your baby has a fun and enjoyable time at the park.
